New tanks assembled on site. A single farm tank, or a multi-tank project with steelwork and civil works, our crews are doing this every week of the year.

What goes up

The scope of an install

Bolted steel is its own trade. It is not welded tank work with different bolts, and a crew who treat it that way leave you with a tank that weeps.

    Any brand of bolted tank

    We put tanks up whoever supplied them. Bolted steel only, no welding on site, which is the whole reason bolted construction exists.

  2. 02

    One tank, or a yard full

    A single farm tank is a job. So is a multi-tank project with steelwork and civil works alongside it. The crews are doing both every week of the year.

  3. 03

    Roofs and roof steel

    Rafters, roof sheets and aluminium geodesic domes, set with the crane and fixed off.

  4. 04

    Liners

    Floor and wall liners fitted and sealed, for tanks that need one from the day they go up.

  5. 05

    Access and fit-out

    Ladders, caged access, platforms and handrail, so the tank can be reached and inspected once we are gone.

  6. 06

    Nationwide

    Christchurch based with crews working both islands. Distance is a logistics problem, not a reason to say no.

How a build runs

Four stages, in this order, every time. The order is not negotiable and neither is getting the first one right.

Foundation

Nothing about a tank forgives a bad base. The ring beam or slab has to be flat and true before the first panel goes anywhere near it, and a few millimetres out here is a leak later.

Shell

Panels bolted up course by course with the seals seated as it goes. This is the stage that decides whether a tank holds, and it is the stage we get called back to fix on other people's work.

Roof

Rafters and sheets, or an aluminium dome, lifted in and fixed off. Most of this work happens on the crane, which makes it the part of a build that rewards a crew who have done it before.

Liner and fit-out

Liner in and sealed, access steel on, and the site cleared. The tank gets handed over clean, which sounds like a small thing until you have been handed one that wasn't.
