Impact has spent years delivering steel bolted tanks across New Zealand, working with the country's leading tank suppliers and directly for the people who own the tanks.
A family business with decades of tank experience
Impact Environmental Services is a family owned business, operating across New Zealand since 2020. Behind it is decades of tank building experience gained overseas, including Africa, Australia and the Middle East, brought here and put to work on New Zealand sites.
We build, repair, service and take down steel bolted tanks of any brand: galvanised and stainless steel, fitted with a liner or sealed with sealant, a flexible compound run along the panel joins, with dome or open roofs.
We have delivered tanks across the whole of New Zealand, managing each project ourselves from planning through to sign-off.
Christchurch based, working nationwide
We operate with several crews across the country at any one time. We have installed tanks across the entire country, from Auckland, Waikato and Wellington to Christchurch and everything in between. Our mission is to be the leading team for New Zealand’s water infrastructure, providing reliable services from a highly skilled and professional team.
Questions we get asked
- What is a bolted steel tank?
- A tank built on site from individual steel panels bolted together, rather than welded as one piece or poured in concrete. It is a common way to build a large liquid storage tank without a welding rig on site, and panels can be sized to suit the site and the job.
- Do you only build new tanks?
- No. New build is one of four things we do. We also repair, service and take down bolted steel tanks.
- How long has Impact been operating, and how many tanks have you built?
- Operating in New Zealand since 2020, on top of decades of tank building experience the family brought with it from overseas. More than 150 tanks built and repaired.
- Can I talk to someone you have worked for?
- Yes, references are available on request.
- How much does a job cost?
- There is no set price list. Every job is quoted on its own, so a straight answer comes after a call about the tank in front of you.
- Will you work on a tank you did not build?
- Yes. We are brand agnostic and take on any brand of bolted steel tank, for repairs, servicing and deconstruction as much as for new builds.
- Where do you work?
- We operate nationwide. Based in Christchurch, our crews work on both the North and South Islands.
